Hiya!
I have a confession to make. I had a review all lined up to do a review of Ingrid, the latest and last character for Street Fighter 6‘s Season 3 DLC character. I realized a mistake, though. You see, Capcom announced she was slated for release on the 28th of May. As this was something I assumed just for the United States readers, I though Ingrid was going to be released a day earlier here in the Philippines. So, I would have had an entire day to test her out yesterday and give my review on the character today. This was not the case as Ingrid is being released on the 28th of May worldwide! It looked like I would have to, at the very least, delay my review.
It looks like Ingrid the gods smiled on me, though, as Capcom revealed the Outfit 3 costumes for all Street Fighter 6’s Season 3 characters! As someone who believes has some fashion sense, this was something I could review in a short span of time. I mean, it is something I have done before. All I had to do was watch the trailer, examine each and every costume as much as I can and give a rating on them. So, let me just go do that! After all, the Outfit 3 costumes is something you’re going to have to buy with real money!
So, I’ll be rating them in the same way I rated Street Fighter 6’s Outfit 4 costumes. The 1st would be Take My Fight Money! because these are going to be the ones you would be glad to plunk those Fighter Coins into. The 2nd would be If You Got Some Space Change and these would go to the costumes which do look good enough but you should only buy if you have some extra monies. The 3rd would be If He/She Is Your Main as they would only be worth it if you really play with that character exclusively and would be a waste if they weren’t. Finally, the last rank would be You Lose! because, even if this character is your main, you really shouldn’t buy it because the fit looks awful.
Got it? Let’s go then!
#1 Sagat
At a certain point, I get the feeling Capcom is getting a little lazy when designing the Outfit 3 for some of the characters. Like with Zangief and Guile, Sagat is another character who gets a fancy suit. Don’t get me wrong. It is a gorgeously designed suit. I love the use of the vertical pinstripes, making the super tall Sagat look even taller. I especially love how of his lapels has a gray tiger print on it, adding to both his already menacing look and amplifying his style. It’s a great suit… but really Capcom? Another suit?
At first, I thought this was a nod to the live-action Street Fighter movie of 1994. Then, while doing research, someone pointed out this was actually the suit Sagat wears in one of the World Tour sections of his story. It’s the suit he wears to look intimidating when the village elder has to go to the bank or something. So, while I like how the suit does have some lore behind it… it’s still another suit! Even though I really like it, I have to take it down a notch for the lack of creativity.

#2 C. Viper
As C. Viper is a super spy, I guess she sometimes has to go undercover in fancy parties to infiltrate some mansion or something like that. That’s the lore I built up in my head anyway when I saw her very sexy cocktail dress Capcom designed for her Outfit 3. Now, I can’t really figure out how she can fight in that outfit without her upper naughty bits popping out or her lower naughty bits flashing the crowd when she does her kicks. Then again, should I really be thinking about realism in a game like Street Fighter 6? No, I shouldn’t.
There is a lot I like about C. Viper’s Outfit 3. For one, I really do like the dress. The top part is revealing but still gorgeous. I also do love the earrings and the choker as it fills in some empty space from her chest to her face. It’s outlandish but still incredibly stylish. I love the asymmetrical color scheme. It does look a little too much like something DC‘s Harley Quinn would wear but it still works for C. Viper’s overall style. I also do love the hairstyle she’s sporting in this outfit as it’s classy but wouldn’t get in the way of her fighting. The only thing I have a complaint with is the monocle. It’s too hoity-toity. If she were sporting a pair of framless eyeglasses, this would be an easy homerun. Ultimately, that is a very minor issue and doesn’t drag my score for his beautiful Outfit 3 that much.

#3 Alex
What the heck, Capcom? You put in a lot of work into Alex, finally making him a character Street Fighter fans want to pick and control! It just seems you stopped there as everything else about the character is trash! First, you make him marry his cousin/sister in his World Tour mode story (which I know is kind of okay in some countries but feels very icky in others). Now you give him this Outfit 3? What’s wrong with you?
I… I have no words for this. No, wait. I do! This is one ugly outfit! I get this is supposed to be some kind of workout outfit but it doesn’t change the fact it’s atrocious! Practically everything about it is just awful! First off, the ponytail, while practical when exercising vigorously, doesn’t fit Alex’s look! His forehead is also showing, exposing his bangs. This is like having a Ryu costume without something to replace his iconic headband! No, the bulky earphones from the ’90s don’t cut it! Oh, there’s also the weird fact Alex doesn’t have any facepaint on! So, if you look at his face, you might not even know this is Alex because he doesn’t have any of his distinguishing features in this costume!
We then get to his very loose croptop hoodie thingy and, once again, by doing this, they removed another of Alex’s identifying features, which is his musculature. Besides the midriff, all of his muscles are now covered! The design on his baggy shorts is supposed to replace his facepaint. Then again, that doesn’t make sense to put your facepaint design on your crotch area, is it? I could say more about how terrible Alex’s Outfit 3 but do I really need to?

#4 Ingrid
We now get to the magical girl herself and, at first glance, I thought this was mostly a fanservice costume. Sure, let’s put the cute female god in a skimpy maid outfit and let’s add a top hat to someone emphasize she has magic powers. However, the more I looked at it, the more I thought this actually matched Ingrid’s overall vibe. She’s supposed to be this silly magical girl so why not put her in a silly magical girl costume? It’s playful and cute and that’s basically Ingrid’s personality. So, it does work.
After doing some more research, it turns out Ingrid’s Outfit 3 is more than just fanservice as there is lore behind the costume. It’s actually from Capcom Fighting Evolution and it’s what Dmitri Maximoff turns her into if he connects with his Midnight Bliss super. I do love how Capcom will dive into their history to come up with their new costumes. So, I do have to give it plus points for that.
Regardless of how lore accurate it is, I will say I do love the style. I already said how it works with Ingrid’s personality but there is something about seeing it in motion, with Ingrid doing all of her magical attacks, which makes this really exceptional as it does look like a magician performing on stage with all of her hand flourishes. Essentially, the costume actually adds to the character. Despite its fanservice-ness, I can’t deny how this is one of the best specifically designed costumes for the character.
