Breath of the Wild has been getting a lot of attention lately – a whole lot more than a recent Zelda game which, in my opinion, paved the way for Nintendo to free themselves from the long established Zelda formula that they’ve been following for more than a decade now: A Link Between Worlds.
When talking about The Legend of Zelda titles, its handheld versions don’t get mentioned in the same breath as their console counterparts. Which is a shame, because few people ever talk about these pair of Zelda gems released on the Game Boy Color.
All the critical acclaim that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has been receiving lately brings to mind another Zelda game – Ocarina of Time, one of the greatest video games to have ever been released.
The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening is proof that you can have a good, bite-sized Zelda game that stays true to the property’s core concepts.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is scheduled for release today. In celebration of this event, I’d like to talk about the reasons why The Legend of Zelda is my favorite video game franchise of all time.
