First off, I’d just like to say that I enjoyed the first RED film. The comic book which the movie was based on actually had a pretty serious tone to it. When it was adapted to the big screen, it became an over the top comedy, mostly revolving around a band of old yet very…
When the first Muppets movie was released, I was worried it would flop. After all, they’ve been off the air for a long time and I didn’t think that they were relevant in today’s time. Thankfully, with the commercial success of the movie, my fears were put to rest. In fact, the movie did so…
After almost 5 years of faithful service, my old Fat Playstation 3 is starting to die. It’s actually kind of depressing really. But, for most people, I’m pretty sure they don’t really get why I feel sad. I mean, it’s just a piece of plastic and electronics, right? And it’s pretty easy to just go…
McDonald’s is the most popular fastfood burger restaurant in all countries of the world… except in the country where I live. Here, in the Philippines, the most popular place that sells burgers is a place called Jollibee. Yes, you can make fun of the fact that the restaurant has a giant bee for a mascot.…
Before I start off, I’m going to give myself a self-imposed “Teen” rating on this post because of violent and suggestive imagery and strong language. It’ll make sense as you read on. After the abomination that was X-Men Origins: Wolverine, I actually was pretty surprised that they were having another go around with the character. The first Wolverine film had very little respect for the history of the character and Marvel Universe in general. So, I came in The Wolverine very cautiously. I mean, if they did…
Hollywood has gotten better in making live action films of geek media. Well, for superheroes anyway. Marvel’s series of movies, which culminated with The Avengers was awesome. And Warner Bros. Man of Steel was a good reboot for a new Superman series. But there’s a lot of things they need to work on. American movie…
This year, we are finally starting up the 8th generation console wars. Nintendo started it with the release of the Wii U. Sony and Microsoft are joining the war later this year with the Playstation 4 and Xbox One, respectively. For some gamers, they think it was about time and the 7th generation should have…
So far, Kick-Ass 2 looks pretty good and may actually surpass the first movie with kick-assery (that’s a word, right?). The new trailer shows Hit Girl training Kick-Ass regarding how to deal with guns as well as Christopher Mintz-Plasse’s character assembling his (stereotyped) gang of super-villians Here’s the trailer… which is filled with profanity and…
It’s hard to deny the legacy of the Resident Evil. Sure, there was Alone in the Dark and even the first Clock Tower. But horror games weren’t popular and not on anyone’s radar. Then the first Resident Evil was released on the original Playstation and that all changed. It even coined a new type of genre:…
