Hiya!
Each and every month, Capcom would put together a new Fighting Pass for Street Fighter 6. These are little packages which gives you little earnable rewards, such as new outfits and emotes for your Avatar, stickers you can post in the Battle Hub and even additional background music. While I would wish Capcom would give things like costumes for the actual Street Fighter 6 roster, I can appreciate some of the silly things they do choose to add. Right now, I am having fun with the new Fatal Fury Fighting Pass so I can pretend my Avatar is falling off a building akin to Geese Howard at the end of the first Fatal Fury game. Kinda sick, both in a good and bad way.
Alas, these rewards have to be earned and they cannot be bought directly. Seeing as these Fighting Pass rewards are only available for a limited time, I have a feeling some Street Fighter 6 players don’t bother trying to earn them as, especially for newbies, earning the necessary Kudos points to get them can be daunting. This is especially true for the Premium tier rewards as you have to purchase it with real money. Even though you can actually get back all the real money by going through the entire Premium rewards track, getting the required 14,500 Kudos points to do so might seem daunting.
I used to think like this but, after several Fighting Passes, I’ve learned it’s pretty much a breeze to get the necessary 14,500 Kudos points within the time frame. In fact, as I have 2 accounts for playing Street Fighter 6, I have to double the Kudos points as I get all of the Fighting Pass rewards for both of those accounts! In fact, for this month, I’m already done! I clocked in the necessary 30,000 Kudos points to get all the rewards for both accounts in just a week! Considering I only play around an average of 1 to 2 hours per day, that seems pretty quick and I do this without any trickery. I actually earn these Kudos points by playing Street Fighter 6.
So, how do I do it? Well, it’s simple as long as you don’t mind doing some fun grinding.
First off, let’s outline how to earn Kudos points in Street Fighter 6. The amount of Kudos points you get depending on specific actions. For example, fighting online matches earns you around 30 Kudos points, whether or not you win or lose. An offline Versus match against another human earns you 5 Kudos points for each character, netting you 10 Kudos points. Completing any combo trial nets you 5. There’s a lot more but you get the idea.
Right now, going through an entire Arcade run in the Fighting Ground will net you 30 to 50 Kudos points, depending on how well you do. Essentially, you get more Kudos points if you get things like multiple Perfects or never lose a round. You may think this is the way to go but it’s not the most time efficient way to do so. Going through the Arcade mode means you have to fight at least 5 matches. That’s a considerable time sink for a maximum of 50 Kudos points! So, that’s not the way to go.
The quickest way to earn the most amount of Kudos points in the shortest amount of time would be completing the Monthly, Weekly and Daily Challenges the game gives you. The difficulty of these tasks come in varying degrees but, thankfully, Capcom does give you multiple pathways to earn some of the more arduous ones. For example, there is currently one Monthly Challenge which will net you a whopping 2,000 Kudos points! The catch is you have to win 30 Battle Hub matches, which can be virtually impossible for newbies. However, you can still get the 2,000 Kudos points by fighting 60 Battle Hub matches. That’s still a lot but, if you think of it as training to get better, it’s not so bad. This just means most of the Challenges are earnable, even for those who aren’t so good at Street Fighter.
Eventually, the Monthly, Weekly and Daily Challenges well will dry up. The next best way to get Kudos points is trolling the Battle Hub and plopping your butt down on one of the glowing Golden Arcade Cabinets which Capcom activate from time to time. These Golden Arcade Cabinets earn you double the Kudos points when you play on them. So, while a regular Battle Hub Arcade Cabinet will give you 30 Kudos points, the Golden Arcade Cabinets will give you 60! If you can, try finding an Extreme Battle arcade cabinet that’s been converted to a Golden Arcade Cabinet as, if I remember correctly, will give you around 70 to 80 Kudos points per match! Besides, Extreme Battles are kind of fun!
Let’s say you don’t like fighting online, however. Well, there are still some ways to earn Kudos points. In fact, playing offline is my preferred way of collecting Kudos points as you don’t have to wait around for other people to play against you or finding someone online you can fight against! You can actually use the V-Rival system to earn Kudos points and, from what I’ve seen, they’re worth around 30 Kudos points per match, the same as fighting against a real-life player! Hooray for AI!
However, the best way I found to earn a ton of Kudos points without you really feeling like you’re grinding it out is through the Fighting Ground’s Combo Trials. That’s seems insane, right? I just mentioned how completing a single combo trial only gives you 5 Kudos points. So, how would this be my most time efficient way to rack up Kudos points? Well, that’s because going through the Combo Trials are a great way to actually level up your skills!
First off, beginners will get a lot from the, well, Beginner Combo Trials. They teach you the basics of the simpler combos as well as inform you what moves are cancellable. The Intermediate Combo Trials are a little more complex but they also teach you how to do Drive Rush combos and Super Cancelling. These are actually each character’s “bread and butter” combos and everyone who plays Street Fighter 6 should be familiar with them, at least in theory.
We then go to the Advanced Combo Trials and, yeah. These can be tough to complete for newbies. I personally can’t complete a few of them, such as Guile‘s Advanced Combo 2 as, not only do you have to hit a Perfect Sonic Boom and then immediately start charging for the next Sonic Boom, you have to link Guile’s standing neutral light kick into the second Sonic Boom and then, after hitting that second Sonic Boom loop, charge down long enough to hit his heavy Flash Kick! I may main Guile but that’s too much for me!
I do believe most Street Fighter 6 players should, at least, be able to complete the Beginner and Intermediate Combo Trials for each character as they are simple enough to accomplish with enough practice. Each character has around 15 to 20 Beginner and Intermediate Combo trials, at 5 Kudos points per trial, going through them would equate to around 75 Kudos points. Then you try out the Modern or Classic Beginner or Intermediate Combo Trials and that would give you another 75 Kudos points! That’s 150 Kudos points without any stress while also improving your muscle memory for combos in actual matches in the future!
Now, seeing as Street Fighter 6 currently has a 22 character roster, that means, if you go through the entire roster’s Beginner and Intermediate Combo Trials and not bother doubling up by switching to either the Modern or Classic Combo Trials, that’s a grand total of 1,650 Kudos points! That will give your roughly 3 tiers of the entire Fighting Pass! How quickly you win these 1,650 Kudos points depends on how quickly you go through the Combo Trials but the more you do them, the quicker you’ll get through them all! Now, I don’t even go through the entire roster. I just do the Combo Trials for the characters I like playing as. I still get around 500 Kudos points for around 10 minutes of playtime, which gets me through 1 tier of the Fighting Pass.
While I will acknowledge this isn’t the path for everyone, I do recommend it as doing any of these don’t feel like I’m just playing to win Kudos points. I actually enjoy myself while earning those Kudos points. It’s more than just a win-win situation, isn’t it?
Byee!
